I’ve been meaning to send this thank you for some time now and must apologize for not getting this sent to you earlier. I had an appointment with you on Friday in May. I had a growth (I can’t remember what you called it) which you removed. I was extremely nervous and anxious as I have an extreme fear of needles. You were very reassuring and didn’t let me see any medical equipment or needles. I thought you were just doing a scraping for a biopsy and was so amazed when you said the whole thing was gone! My biopsy came back benign and I’m very relieved and grateful, I wanted to thank you for your understanding and kindness. It’s embarrassing to have such a fear of needles and I appreciate your tact and consideration.

Ms. English is certified and trained to diagnose and treat all types of skin disorders. As a Physician Assistant, she practices medicine in conjunction with Dr. Levy. She has been working with Dr. Levy and Dermatology of Seattle since April 2004. Ms. English received her Physician Assistant degree at Duke University in Durham , North Carolina in September of 1997. She practiced Family Medicine for Group Health Cooperative in Burien, Washington for four years prior to coming here to work. Ms. English treats the following conditions:

Has been in private practice in North Seattle for 30 years and recently become a member of the Dermatology of Seattle staff. Dr. Rosewater recently came back from a trip to France where he has pursued his interest in bettering his French. Dr. Rosewater is an avid boater, skier and traveler. We are excited that Dr. Rosewater has decided to come out of retirement to assist us in clinical and surgical dermatology. Dr. Rosewater enjoys seeing complex internal medicine cases, geriatric dermatology, as well as complex surgical reconstruction. He is available for appointments Wednesdays and Fridays. Dr. Rosewater is contracted with all insurances.

In 1970, Dr. Levy moved to Seattle, where he attended private school until he began his studies at the University of Washington. There he majored in Near Eastern Languages and Civilization, while pursuing his pre-med program–a heavy load! There he also focused on learning languages: Hebrew, Arabic and French. Dr. Levy is also fairly fluent in Spanish.

For medical school Dr. Levy attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He spent six months at the prestigious New York University Skin Cancer Unit working with Drs. Kopf and Bystryn, who are leaders in skin cancer research. This partnership then lead to publishing two papers on Melanoma and one on Basal Cell Carcinoma. Dr. Levy graduated medical school with a special degree in Cutaceous Oncology, skin cancer. This is quite a feat for a medical student!

For the next three years, Dr. Levy completed a full residency in Internal Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. There he met his lovely wife, Miriam, now mother of seven (all theirs!).
Dr. Levy moved up north a bit to Montreal, Quebec, Canada for his dermatology residency. His two best friends were Canadians living in New York at the time.

Dr. Levy underwent special training in MOHS Skin Cancer Surgery under Dr. Bernstein at the Mayo Clinic and Dr. Billick at the University of Miami. There, Dr. Levy published monthly articles on all forms of skin disease in a local medical journal and presented rare cases at Quarterly meetings.

Dr. Levy began his practice in Burien in November of 1997. He was the first to bring the technique of Mohs Surgery to South Seattle. This provides a 99% cure rate for skin cancer.

In 1999, Dr. Levy began teaching future dermatologists at the University of Washington Dermatology Division and enjoys doing so to the present. He continues to educate and teach dermatology by going to many conferences annually. It is important to maintain one’s knowledge. Dr. Levy has no spare time for hobbies-his life’s goal is to do only good to others. He is very generous to his staff and community.=
